Bethany handles all aspects of civil litigation, including arbitration and mediation as well as civil writs and appeals. She is experienced in all phases of pre-trial litigation, including discovery, depositions, law and motion matters, and trial preparation. Presently, she focuses her practice on labor and employment litigation, medical malpractice appeals, and disputes involving health insurance coverage.

Prior to joining Cole Pedroza, Bethany was an associate at LeBeau Thelen, LLP as a member of the firm’s healthcare litigation group. Her practice focused on the defense of physicians and other healthcare providers in medical malpractice cases. Bethany also represented management in labor and employment matters such as wage and hour, PAGA, and FEHA claims.

Before entering private practice, Bethany served as a law clerk for the Honorable Michele D. Hotten on the Maryland Court of Appeals, where she drafted appellate opinions in civil and criminal matters. Some published opinions include McClure v. Lovelace (2013) 214 Md. App. 716 and Sierra Club et al. v. Dominion Cove Point LNG, L.P. (2014) 216 Md. App. 322.

Bethany earned her J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law, where she was selected as a Dean’s Fellow. Prior to that, she studied international economics and politics at UC Berkeley. She currently serves as an appointed member of the Committee of Bar Examiners for the State Bar of California.

Bethany is admitted to practice in California and Maryland.
